LIMITS

What ASOwl can't do.

Better you hear it from us than find out halfway through a release. Some of these are Apple's rules, some are ours, and a few are simply not built yet.

Updated 4 October 2026

Things only Apple's website can do

App Store Connect's API doesn't offer these, so ASOwl links you to the right page instead:

  • Creating the app record (name, bundle ID, SKU, primary language). After that, everything else can be done in ASOwl.
  • The App Privacy label. Apple's API can't read or write it. ASOwl drafts the answers from your PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy and opens the page.
  • Agreements, tax and banking.
  • Uploading builds. Use Xcode or Transporter; ASOwl attaches a processed build to your version.
  • Xcode Cloud, certificates and provisioning, team members, Game Center and App Clips.

Things nobody outside Apple knows

  • Search volume. Keyword demand in ASOwl is an estimate from App Store autocomplete. Apple publishes no search volume (Apple Ads popularity is the closest thing, and only with your own Apple Ads account).
  • Your exact rank everywhere. Rank is observed from public search in one storefront, at one moment; results vary by device and person.
  • What App Review will decide. Rejection-risk checks and the 4.3 review catch common pitfalls; they can't predict a reviewer's call.
  • What the score does to downloads. The ASO score is guidance with a reason behind every point, not a forecast.

App Analytics

  • Turning on analytics reports needs an App Store Connect key with the Admin role (reading them later works with less).
  • Apple produces the data daily, usually a day or two behind, and the first history can take a day or two to appear.
  • Apple leaves out very small numbers for privacy, so a new app's charts can look sparse at first.

Platforms and accounts

  • A native Mac app (macOS 14 or later). There's no web, Windows or iPad version.
  • The Apple App Store only. Google Play isn't supported.
  • One App Store Connect key per team: you see the apps that key can see.

Tyto, the AI

  • Tyto can be wrong. Everything it writes is a draft you review; claims it can't verify are flagged, and nothing goes to Apple until you apply.
  • AI features use credits. Rule checks, previews, imports and applying are always free.

Not built yet

On the list, roughly in this order:

  • Product page A/B tests, in-app events and featuring nominations.
  • Sales and finance reports next to Analytics.
  • Uploading builds without Xcode or Transporter.
  • Per-country age ratings and custom licence agreements.
